Trencrom District Campsite

Trencrom District Campsite can be found near Trencrom Hill, Lelant Downs.

Option 1: - (From Hayle)

Take the A3074 from Hayle towards St Ives.  Go past "Wyevale Garden Centre", and over the small round-a-bout.  Another 75 metres there is another mini round-a-bout, take the first exit.  Go up the hill past the "Watermill" and continue up the hill and around the bends.  Go past The "Green Company" and "Richards Self Storage" on your left.  Take the first left junction after this, signposted to "Cripplesease", it's exactly 1 mile from the Watermill.  Stay on this narrow road. Go past the National Trust carpark for Trencrom Hill and keep going.  Go past a small junction on your left and then keep your eyes peeled for our Campsite on your right.  Again, it's around 1 mile from the "Cripplesease" signpost and turn off.   The campsite has 2 tree trunks with a wire between them at the front, a metal flagpole in the front and a wooden building at the back.  It has a metal 5-bar gate with a Scout Sign on it.  Best to drop off your young one outside as it's a bit tricky to turn around if there are a lot of people in here!

Option 2: -  (From Penzance)

Take the B3311 - back road towards St Ives - and stay on that road up past "Kenegie", past "Badgers Cross", past "Castle Gate" and keep going.  Go down into "Nancledra" and through the village and up the other side.  At the top of the hill, the road goes around a sharp left hand bend, 50 metres from here, there is a junction on your right, signposted to "Trencrom".  Take that turn.  If you see "The Engine Inn" pub, you need to turn around - don't stop for a crafty one but head back a bit and turn left!!  Head towards "Trencrom", stay on this road, don't turn off!  You need to go for about 1 mile or so.  When you see two BIG pine tree trunks with a wire between them, you're almost there.  These trees are in the front of our campsite, it's on the left hand side and there is a metal 5-bar gate with a Scout Sign on it.  Best to drop off your young one outside as it's a bit tricky to turn around if there are a lot of people in here!
